Simple Ways To Stay Well

Finding balance in our lives is the fundamental element needed living well. We all have ups and downs in our lives.  There are times when we feel so in control and other times we could just lie down and inhale a pack of Twinkies. Yes we will all have those Twinkie times during the course of our lives, but that does not mean that we should give in.  These guidelines are meant to help us focus on some key elements as we walk though our journey of life.

1. Variety Is The Spice Of Life
Eating from all the food groups is necessary for proper nutrition. Be aware of what the groups are and what the recommended intakes are for each group. Click Here to view the food groups.

2. Enjoy What You Eat
Indulge in moderation and search for pleasing ways to work in healthy foods.

3. Don't Skip Meals
Skipping meals is a sure fire way to slow down your metabolism.  Opt for more frequent Mini-meals to burn more calories and you'll feel more energized throughout the day too.

4. Get Regular Exercise
It's a fact that none of us can deny.  Regular exercise wards of many diseases, increases our life span and makes us able to keep up with our daily activities better. Not to mention the fact that exercise improves our appearance.  Do it for yourself.  You deserve it!

5. Work In Some Relaxation
All work and no play ... is not a healthy thing.  Schedule in some down time.  Plan a relaxation time for yourself on a regular basis to help keep your stress level in check.

6. Drink Your Water
Keep yourself hydrated by drinking at least eight glasses of non-caffeinated and non-alcoholic fluids a day.

7. Get Enough Sleep
Most women need an average of 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night.  Keep regular sleep patterns as much as possible.

8. Find Purpose
We were all put here on earth for a reason.  Search for your purpose in life by spending time in prayer and meditation.
